The Allen County Sheriff’s Department received information this morning, 11/06/23, that both patients listed in critical condition from the crash on 11/03/23, have died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
This incident remains under investigation.

On November 3, 2023, at approximately 4:51 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the intersection of Springfield Center Road and Spencerville Road, reference a personal injury crash. Upon arrival, officers and medics located two vehicles involved, one pickup truck and one van. A preliminary investigation indicated the van was northbound on Spencerville Road and the pickup truck was westbound on Springfield Center Road. The driver of the pickup truck had a stop sign for westbound traffic. The driver of the van did not have a stop sign. It appears the truck entered the intersection and struck the van, causing it to overturn.
The driver of the van, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. He was later downgraded to life threatening – critical condition.

The driver of the truck, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital in fair condition.

On November 5, 2023, at approximately 5:33 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of Schwartz Road and Notestine Road, reference a personal injury crash. Upon arrival, officers and medics located one person in serious condition.

On November 3, 2023, Warrants and Fugitive Division Officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department conducted surveillance in the 7200 block of Adams Center Road. Just after 11:00 A.M., the subject they were looking for with active warrants was positively identified in a residence.
