One Person Critical in U.S. 30 East Crash

On January 16, 2024, at approximately 12:49 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of U.S. 30 East and Webster Road, reference a two-vehicle crash with reported injuries. Upon arrival, officers and medics located a pickup truck with heavy damage and a semi tractor trailer in the ditch. The driver of the pickup truck had been ejected from the vehicle.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the pickup truck was northbound on Webster Road, attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30. The pickup truck pulled out in front of the semi tractor trailer, which was traveling eastbound on U.S. 30, and they collided.

The driver of the pickup truck, an adult female, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver of the semi, an adult male, was not injured.

This incident remains under investigation.

I.S.A. Scholarship Program Application

Allen County Sheriff Troy Hershberger, announced today that the Indiana Sheriffs' Association will again be awarding college scholarships to qualified high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice studies.  There will be approximately 40 - $750 scholarships awarded to qualifying students throughout the state.
