One Deceased, One Critical in Northeast Allen County Crash

The adult female passenger of the four wheeler died on 10/21/24, as a result of her injuries from the crash.

On September 23, 2024, at approximately 2:26 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the area of State Road 101, north of Hurshtown Road, reference a personal injury crash. Upon arrival, officers and medics located a semi tractor trailer involved in the crash, as well as an all-terrain vehicle (four wheeler). Officers and medics located two individuals with injuries as well.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the semi was northbound on State Road 101, north of Hurshtown Road. The four wheeler entered the roadway from the grass ditch on the west side of the roadway, traveling eastbound. The four wheeler struck the side of the semi tractor trailer.

The adult male driver of the four wheeler was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult female passenger of the four wheeler was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The semi driver did not have any injuries.

This incident remains under investigation.
