One Deceased in Hit and Run Crash on I-69

On July 25, 2024, at approximately 2:38 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of I-69 northbound near the 319 mile marker, reference a disabled semi on the side of the highway and a body laying in the roadway.

Upon arrival, officers and medics located one person on the highway, who was deceased. A preliminary investigation indicated that the deceased person was the driver of a semi that was disabled on the side of the highway. Officers located vehicle parts from another semi, believed to be involved in this incident. Officers said they are looking for a red or maroon in color, Volvo semi tractor, with front passenger side damage, missing a mirror.
