One Critical in US 24 Crash

On February 18th, 2025 at approximately 5:39 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of US 24 and West County Line Road, reference to a single-vehicle crash with injuries.

Upon arrival, officers and medics located a passenger car involved in the crash. A preliminary investigation indicated that the passenger car was eastbound on US 24 and for unknown reasons left the roadway.

The driver was an adult male and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

This incident remains under investigation.

UPDATE Driver from US 24 crash dies from injuries 

Feb 28 2025

The driver from the single vehicle crash on February 18, 2025, at US 24 and West Countyline Rd has died from his injuries. The driver had been transported to an area hospital in critical condition where he remained until passing away on the evening of Thursday, February 27. The identity of the driver will be released by the Allen County Coroner's Office. This crash remains an active investigation by the Allen County Sheriff's Department.

Allen County Sheriff Troy Hershberger, announced today that the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association will again be awarding college scholarships to qualified high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice studies.
