Crash on I-469 Leaves One Deceased

On April 15, 2024, at approximately 4:25 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 21 mile marker on I-469 Northbound, reference a crash involving multiple vehicles.

Upon arrival, officers and medics located six vehicles involved, one being a semi tractor-trailer. A preliminary investigation indicated traffic was stopped for construction north of the crash scene. The semi tractor trailer rear ended a smaller SUV, starting a chain reaction, where a passenger car and three other SUVs were struck.

The first vehicle struck by the semi was driven by an adult female, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other significant injuries reported.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the New Haven Police Department, Indiana State Police and East Central Fire & EMS.

I-469 will be closed for several hours.

This incident remains under investigation.
