Shooting Investigation Conducted by Allen County Sheriff’s Department

On January 26, 2025, at approximately 1:44 P.M., the Allen County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a walk-in patient, with an apparent gunshot wound at a fire station on East Yoder Road. The adult male victim was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition.

Officers were directed to the location where the shooting occurred, in the 15300 block of South Anthony Boulevard Extended. Detectives and Crime Scene arrived on scene as well.

A preliminary investigation indicated the suspect, an adult male, and the victim were working together to eliminate an animal from the property. The suspect used a firearm in the process, subsequently striking the victim, in what was explained to be accidental.

Early this evening, the victim was upgraded to serious but stable condition.

This incident remains under investigation. All information is subject to change.
