On Friday September 1, 2023, at approximately 11:44 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Bull Rapids Road, between Blue Cast Road and Old 24 East, on reports of a single vehicle personal injury crash.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers and medics located one patient, who had been ejected from a full size tri-axle dump truck. A preliminary investigation indicated that the dump truck left the roadway, the driver was ejected and the truck continued until it came to rest in the 7000 block of Bull Rapids Road.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was identified as an adult male. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the driver at a later date.
This incident remains under investigation.
