On Thursday, June 29th, 2023, at about 18:00 hours, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian struck in the 6000 Block of East State Boulevard, in Fort Wayne. The pedestrian struck was transported to a local hospital. On July 2nd, 2023 he was pronounced deceased.
The pedestrian was identified as Loyd C. Quillen, 78, male, White of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Notification has been made to the next of kin. The Cause of Death is Multiple Blunt Force Injuries due to Motor Vehicle versus Pedestrian Crash and the Manner of Death is Accident.
Loyd C. Quillen is the 20th motor vehicle fatality for Allen County in 2023.
This incident is under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
